I am earthy warm brown tones torn and worn from a
tree, and I can tell you from experience that global
warming does not exist.
I am uneven, I don't meet in the middle medium
where all doors form a nice, even line
I am of so little use now
I do not know why I am still allowed to live
but do any of us?
I sit idle, unusable
dreams of leading to somewhere
people want to be haunt me
as I sleep and day dream
in the hot summer sun
I know the end of my life is near
the brittle, metal hinges are falling apart
and I'll collapse
my purpose fully served
I just wrote it out how it looks in my journal. I bet you can guess which prompt I chose :D

did you use a picture? or did you just use the "i am" form and go with it?
either way, i like it. and i think the "uneven...middle medium" line is nice. i'm always impressed when people can rhyme (i'm just calling that a rhyme, if that's okay with everyone) with seemingly little to no effort. it's very jeff tweedy-esque, i think. :)
I loooove this! Did you use the picture at the top of your blog?? I love that first line; it is so great. The tone and voice of the piece work really well.
yeah i used the picture at the top of my blog :D
Internal rhyme gives this piece a nice rhythm.
Why does the door feel so strongly about global warming?
haha. i've thought about that. i'm not sure. personally, i don't think global warming is as big a deal as is being fed to me. that line is kind of irrelevant, but it's what got me started :)
